Children must be 4 on or before June 30, 2018 to apply.

 

To apply, you will need:

 

  • Proof of Your Child’s Age (for example with a Certificate of Live Birth from the State Dept./Vital Statistics Office)
  • Your Child’s Record of Immunizations
  • One Proof of Residency – Utility bill, purchase/rental agreement, etc.
  • 2017 Income Verification to secure Head Start slot eligibility

 

Additional Documentation Needed Prior to the Beginning of School:

  • 4 Year Health Check
  • Current Dental Exam

                                                                                            

IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE WISHING TO HAVE YOUR CHILD PARTICIPATE IN THE PK LOTTERY, ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO 4/15/18.

 

Head Start is a free early childhood program open to all age eligible children.  Families who meet Head Start Income Guidelines will receive priority for Head Start designated slots.

*Preschool children ages 3-4 who might have a special need may obtain an appointment for screening by calling 304-599-5952 ext. 1755.  Screening of a preschool child does not guarantee that the child will qualify for special needs services.
